GOLAFIAS
Going Off Like a Frog In a Sock
Pronunciation: Gor-Lar-Fee-Us or Gor-Laf-Ee-Us
Use: Verb. Primarily used to describe erratic behaviour and RTPs. ("Yeah, that was a pretty wild night. Totally GOLAFIAS" or "I had a few beers and before I knew it I was on the GOLAFIAS islands")
Origins: Office etiquette dictates that a flurry of verbal reports will be provided each Monday morning relating to the preceding weekend's activities. Amongst said reports, there will usually be someone whose weekend had "gone off". The full "it was going off like a frog in a sock" simile was suitably shortened for the time-poor during a revival of office acronymy in late 2008.
